Orenda Products We Use

We have introduced Orenda products during rebalancing.

The Orenda products we have introduced are:

PR-10,000 Phosphate Remover Concentrate, CV-600 Enzyme Water Cleaner, and SC-1000 Scale & Metal Control

PR-10,000 is a highly concentrated rare-earth phosphate remover. It is formulated to react with phosphates in the water, allowing them to be removed from solution. It reacts with all known types of phosphates on contact and hardens them into a fine precipitate, which falls out of solution. The inert phosphates then floc out, to be vacuumed or filtered out of the pool. PR-10,000 causes cloudiness, which can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

CV-600 Enzyme Water Cleaner is a unique, stabilized enzyme that effectively breaks down and digests non-living organic waste and oils in water. These carbon-based contaminants are commonly found in pools, spas and other recreational water. Without an enzyme like CV-600, organic waste needs to be oxidized to be removed from water.

SC-1000 Scale & Metal Control is an environmentally-friendly chelating agent that binds to metals and minerals. SC-1000 is great for pool startups and is also used for ongoing maintenance to help prevent carbonate scale formation and metal oxidation/staining. SC-1000 contains no phosphates. SC-1000′s formulation was awarded the Environmental Protection Agency’s Presidential Green Chemistry Award for its implementation of environment-friendly chemical technology.

Significantly reducing the chlorine demand needed to maintain a clean pool by proactively removing non-living organic contaminants like oils, lotions, and sunscreen, effectively preventing the chlorine from being wasted on these substances, allowing it to focus on sanitizing the water more efficiently.

This translates to cleaner water with less chlorine needed, while also minimizing the potential for scaling and metal staining due to their chelating properties that bind with minerals in the water.

Orenda LSI Calculator

The Orenda Technologies LSI Calculator is a pool chemical dosing calculator and app that helps users safely and correctly balance water chemistry using the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI).

The Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) is the objective measurement of water balance, based on the saturation of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Too much (high LSI) leads to scale, and too little (low LSI) leads to etching damage of the pool's surface.

Most pool LSI calculators are built upon an LSI reference chart. The Orenda Calculator™ is built upon the actual math formulas behind that chart.

The main reason the Orenda Calculator™ gives precise results (for LSI and chemical doses) is because of the depth and precision of their formulas. Rather than relying on LSI reference charts, they factor in more known variables that are as close as possible to Dr. Langelier's index.

A perfectly balanced pool’s LSI is 0. The LSI reading you receive on the emailed report via Skimmer is prior to rebalancing.
